Why write a blog in the first place? One of my main reasons is that email is so invasive. It is often so tempting when inspiration strikes to launch out an email that may be unwanted, un-necessary and a plain nuisance. With an email you are choosing the recipients based on what you think might interest them compared to what actually will.
At least with a Blog compared with email you have the choice to read my thoughts or ignore them and when you choose.
Also I am using it for self motivation to track my progress building the Web Apps and following some sort of development process that it would be hard to follow otherwise.
As the title suggests the focus is on Ruby on Rails however I have also thrown in Google App Engine .
Ruby on Rails was my first focus and the technology I have been closely following for over a year.
But then came along Google App Engine and with the backing of Google it was just too big to ignore. Hence the parallel development of an application using both technologies.
